FinOps Lead Technology & Product
Join Sekoia as FinOps Lead: connect cloud costs, product economics, and growth to guide smarter decisions across Finance, Engineering, and Product — Paris, Rennes, or remote.
The FinOps Lead is responsible for making Sekoia’s cloud and Technology & Product economics visible, actionable, and governable.
Reporting to the CFO and working in close functional partnership with the CTPO, you will act as a Finance Business Partner for the Technology & Product (T&P) organization. Your role will be to connect infrastructure costs, product usage, resource allocation, and business growth to support better financial and operational decisions.
In our high-growth environment, you will work at the intersection of Finance, Product, Engineering, Data, and HR. You will bring financial discipline and modelling capabilities while earning the trust of technical teams through your understanding of cloud infrastructure, engineering trade-offs, and platform economics.
📍 The position can be based in Paris, Rennes, or fully remote. Professional trips paid for by the company might be required.
Your missions:
1. Cloud infrastructure costs and platform economics
Inform — structure the tagging strategy, cost allocation models, and dashboards that attribute cloud spend to specific teams, products, and features
Optimize — own spend anomaly detection and drive optimization levers (rightsizing, reservations/commitments, waste elimination)
Operate — anchor governance over time: alerts, regular reviews with the T&P teams, continuous improvement of the allocation model
Connect infrastructure costs to revenue and cost of revenue to give Finance a reliable read on gross margin and unit economics, in coordination with the Data team
Own the rolling infrastructure cost forecast, linking expected customer growth, usage, product adoption and architectural changes to future cloud and infrastructure spend
2. Cost impact of new products and offerings
Work upstream with Product and Tech to anticipate the impact of new products, features, and architectures on the cost structure
Identify the economic scaling factor of new products: what happens to infrastructure cost at 2x, 10x and 100x usage
Build pre-launch cost models (unit costs and scaling costs) and periodically reconcile them against actual production economics after launch
Feed product business cases: cost simulation, pricing scenarios, expected profitability
3. T&P resource allocation and cost planning
This section operates on a dotted line to the CTPO. The CTPO is the primary internal client of the output: allocation data, KPI cockpit, and R&D ROI analysis are built to serve T&P steering.
Provide the CTPO with a reliable view of T&P resource allocation across Major Initiatives, including capacity, fully loaded cost and evolution over time, to support prioritization and R&D investment decisions
Maintain reliable time tracking on subsidized R&D projects (CIR/CII, France 2030, BPI grants) — securing the audit trail required for tax credit justification and grant reporting
Track and model the cost ramp tied to the T&P hiring plan (future payroll, recruitment costs), in coordination with HR and the Finance team
Give Finance a clear view of the fully loaded cost of a T&P hire and its P&L impact, to support annual budgeting and scenario planning

You have a strong command of FinOps concepts, including tagging, cost allocation, unit economics, and gross margin.
You are comfortable working with data, including SQL and/or cloud cost-management tools, and you are able to build relevant financial and operational models.
